@fh nobody cares about some random MBA. Mbas are why Intel ended up where it did.
My former undergrad mate went to Wharton (MBA finance), entered the industry and was mentored by the likes of Dan Niles. His view on justifiable Head Count for Intel Inc.
Design team = 20,000
Manufacturing = 40,000
Total = 60,000
The final number sure as sh-t ain’t 75k it is far lower, there are still way too many bullsh-t job roles, admins, scrum masters, app support for 1000’s of duplicate unnecessary applications. We need to dig deeper we can easily get to 50k
3,500? Attrition can easily take care of that. Intel is still losing a lot of people who are leaving by choice. And now that the stock is at $80, I'm sure a few more will be pulling the retirement trigger.
https://layoffhedge.com/h1b Intel at #18 in H1Bs over 10 years.
Still way too many leeches.
You are missing the point. Intel is finally inflecting upward. More competitive product portfolio and improving manufacturing yields and throughput will drive HC growth (although concurrent with redeployment aka the Grove model).
