HR logging hours enforcing RTO

Heard rumors that HR is attempting to come up with a system to ensure everyone is spending 8 hours in the office.

Anyone else can confirm this?

Until now it seems they screen for badging in the office. This of course completely leaves out all the evening / weekend calls and booting up vpn on the laptop to resolve issues (sometimes for several hours), not to mention when you need to be in the house for the occasional service but can definitely work from home very efficiently.

@2rd M&Ms now cost too much in the Kiosk. Bagel with cream cheese still a good bargain in the Cafe kiosk.

If you don't badge in, I hear they search your desk for M&M's. If found, they replace them with Skittles. We're doomed.

I can at least confirm that they do monitor badge-ins. They track if you have badged into a building at least once every weekday. The policy is that you need to badge in once every weekday, and this policy is not published anywhere nor has it been formally and openly communicated.

For a while this was dinging overnight employees since there was a bug that caused badge-ins to not count if you stayed past midnight.

So far it has been pretty lax. If HR has a problem they send uppity emails to your boss. And they only have been doing that if you do regular-pattern stuff like WFM every other day or you don’t come in on Fridays. Irregular WFM seems to not cause issues.

But who knows? HR are a secretive.

If you're exempt, I guess early and late meetings from home don't count? You need to put in extra hours from home.

H.R. .... not there for the employee. In my 35 plus years at T.I. I avoided them like the plague. Only good for getting insurance in line with life events ( marriage or kids). The last one I dealt with after submitting early retirement papers gave me very incorrect info regarding unvested stock options......cost me tens of thousands

Our HR group doesn't do their own jobs 80% of the time. I'd be shocked if they're logging hours for salaried employees
