Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Will our CEO take the advice of the International Energy Agency?

The IEA has advised workers to work from home due to the oil shortages that have started and will soon be getting worse. Will Elevance Health’s CEO acknowledge this new reality by removing the silly in-office requirements?

That would mean the CEO cares about the associates, so the answer is a resounding 'no'.

@dx we are no longer in the "let them eat cake " we are now in "watch US eat cake"

too funny to think gas prices will change a worthless stupid policy -

Not likely. There would have to be a highly compelling reason, or a benefit to doing it. Like a state/government reward, or fuel being in scarce supply. Baring either of those events, we will all have to deal with it.

There is a better chance of our CEO donating her annual bonus to the United Way than rethinking the return to office mandate.

@bg B8 would have to interrupt their anti vax tantrums to do so.

@b8 do a little research. The US is a net importer of oil. Everything is not going to be fine as long as this war continues. The oil prices you see are not the true cost of oil being sold right now.

Only a re--rd would believe that there or/will be oil shortages in the US or anything published in that leftist rag, for that matter. Nice try

@OP Short answer: No. Long answer: You'd know the answer if you've been reading literally anything on this board. The answer is no.

It might be logical to do this, so suspect Elevance will reject it because they seem to be completely illogical in their decision making. Forcing people who were hired fully remote to suddenly go into an office: illogical. Having people spend the equivalent of an extra day per week (2 hour RT commute, plus log off, log on etc) and giving them more work as they RIF people: completely illogical. Then the forced commute person has to spend extra hours to have the same work output as peers, punishing them for something that they didn't want to do in the first place: illogical. The forced commuters also need to pay for gas and if you are driving a full hour each way that adds up. What will be interesting is if fuel costs will hit more in India and the Philippines causing power outages at data centers or making them have to telecommute. What do you think the data security is going to be like then. Remember the big data breach years back when they had to pay for lifelock for tons of members- word on the street was it was offshore sub-contractor related.
