Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Can your team be impacted twice?

If your team was already impacted by layoffs in Feb, is there a chance to be impacted again next week?

@d7 what org team? I was on contact center operations and laid off last week. And more coming with their major CRM and applications being secretly retired and being outsourced to Accenture and some Indian body shops. I was with the company for 18 years. When they announced GCO cr-p 4 years ago I knew they were setting the stage for layoffs. Now they are starting to fire all older and higher salary staff and hiring contractors both on advocacy and IT. They have lost millions due to mismanagement and failed AI projects on contact center and it's a big mess right now. All the good ones have moved out to other teams already. I applied internally to another role and was immediately rejected. I thought ill apply from external sites for full stack roles but I was told they already have other internal candidates on mind. I am sick of the lies and politics and I think I am now actually at peace not having to wake up to a nightmare each morning.

Yes, ours has been hit constantly since last spring. It’s been a brutal year. We’ve lost over 30% between layoffs and restructuring and we’re not any sort of operations or IT area that seem to be hit more.

I’d say any and all options can happen. The morale is in the tank.
