@cr you hit nail on the head. My manager was a yes man, and had no idea what he was doing. I asked questions, I got selected for layoff.
Go read the contract you signed when you took the job. But Of Course, you didn't read it before you started demanding this or that.
There are only two types of management styles that survive - the bullying kind and the "yes" kind performing as if everything is fine. The former will ignore such a petition and the latter will defend the letter of the law and the loophole's existence. Some people will lead a challenge and we should let them because total silence is tacit approval and encouragement for all employers.
The part where H-1B's are demanding increased severance is laughable. Go home to your own country. Clearly you are not needed nor wanted here.
What a waste of time... How are former employees in any position to make demands? Loyalty is something you provided for free not something that was required. You misinterpreted the reality of the relationship. Move on and put the effort into your job search.
This "petition" is meaningless. You either sign the letter to get your severance which waives your right to sue, or you try to fight O's lawyers.
