@fk The purpose in getting them in before layoffs is not for the people getting laid off, but for the ones that remain. After a large layoff, you end up with a lot of people who no longer have anyone that can give them reviews, so you have people left on staff that you don't have any visibility into how they are performing. This is even bigger a concern when it's mostly middle management getting axed, which I suspect this layoff is going to be mostly focused on. This is bit them in the a-s a few years back, hence the readjustment in timing.
@fk agreed, list was made a while ago, no changing it now
I don't think those reviews matter much, maybe to back up giving ratings when it comes to year end.
they'll be another round, maybe in Q4, if not, next year for sure, continue to whittle away the overly sized GT budget
Year end ratings don’t mean anything in regards to layoffs. I imagine the list is completed. Not taking the time to do my cfe until I know if I still have a job. Not wasting time on anything unless urgent as no leadership is around and I’m too busy refreshing this site.
@em I haven't seen one for this, but usually it's a restriction on organization emails going out, usually related to organization changes
What’s a communications freeze?
Just got wind of a communications freeze from 4/20-5/01.
Next week is Learning Week at Tiger Woods center with a million events planned
Managers don't have to submit year end ratings until May 8. Is this reorg going to wait until then? Ugh.
@b5 next week will be the wfh email, on Friday, not the layoffs. There is a reason year end reviews are getting rushed to be due next friday.
Given all the on campus learning events at TWC next week, I highly doubt it’s gonna happen this coming week.. my guess would be the week after.
It's not next week. Next week is for feedback, self appraisal. Layoffs will be the week after or 1st week of May.
Use this time to get things in order based on your situation. Hope for the best, be ready for the worst.
heard hints of next week as well, for what its worth
agree, no one knows, and those that do are vp's and they wouldn't leak it here and risk losing their job, not worth it
none the less, various indicators are strong, the best we have, to say next week most likely and the following too, if say, they can't manage to execute next week.....which would not surprise me at all
@ap The validity of these insights is exactly what makes them so unsettling. It’s a positive shift to see this community looking beyond the recent layoffs to examine the actual root causes of Nike’s cultural decline on this forum.
My VP has been hinting something is coming next week. Nobody knows for sure, but collecting hints is what helps us not in the know to combine what little we know together to make guesses. If it bothers you, just don't go to a website specifically for layoffs. Or at least skip over the prediction posts. Why raise such a stink about them?
I hope is happens ASAP. Enough already!!!
These rumors are irresponsible. Spreading them creates unnecessary fear and pressure for employees. At some point, the constant uncertainty becomes more difficult than the possibility of a layoff itself.
Awesome! No more commuting and traffic. Tee times and back to cooking classes in between calls and meetings. Lucky
I have good reasons to believe it’s coming within the next week or two as well, but not 100% sure
I’ve seen this rumor every week for the past 6 weeks. We’ll know for sure once the WFH email comes out and then you can take a victory lap that you were right.
