Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Where are the CVS WARN notices?

Hey everyone, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the layoff situation at CVS, but I’ve noticed something strange: there haven't been any major WARN notices filed lately. Given the restructuring talk we heard last year, I’m trying to make sense of this.

Does the lack of filings mean the company is actually doing well and the 'efficiency' goals were met without more cuts? Or is this a sign that the broader economy is stabilizing? I’d love to hear if anyone inside the company has insight into whether more rounds are coming or if we're finally in the clear.

@OP CVS reports their WARN notice after they started the layoffs, they get away with it because they will pay you the xdays of the WARN Notice, i.e RI requires I think 60 days, so CVS gives you 60 days pay then your severance.. if you are a RI employee, CVS will follow the WARN notice of the employees work state..I believe they report it after to avoid the chaos.

@fv You must be new here. Not only are they actively rooting for people to lose their jobs, they create fake AI slop "internal memos" in an attempt to stoke fear over the poor souls scouring through this forum.

Companies layoff employee in numbers where they do not have to do a WARN notice. Work from home would be reported to the state they live in not a CVS site so you can spread out the number. Also, the WARN notice is not sent until the employees have already been told of they have been impacted. They can do this by pushing out the employees end date. People impacted last fall were given an termination date of 12/31.

WARN Requirements

A WARN filing is required when:

Worksite closing affects 50 or more employees; or
Mass layoff affects at least 50 employees and one-third of the worksite's total workforce; or
500 or more employees at a single site of employment; or
Anticipated separate employment losses within a 90-day period meet WARN criteria.
