Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Are contractors not being converted to FTE anymore?

I’ve been at Cigna for multiple years now, changed teams to a more senior position and even got a raise but still no FTE. HIH has definitely taken over a lot of my Org as well.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I will be up front and honest with you. There is minimal chance of US contractors being converted. Many have already been told their contract will end this quarter.

I don’t think so. Lost all hope of ever converting when more HIH folks were being hired after losing several people on my team. I’ve heard every reason from hiring freezes, headcount, budget, reorganization and things falling through. It’s very demotivating being paid much less with zero benefits and no paid time off. I’m taking it as a sign to find another job where I’m valued. If they wanted to convert, they would’ve.

I'm sorry this is happening to you.

I wish there was more transparency to this process. As a manager with contractors on my team, I have been given the false hope of converting contractors, only to have it pulled away time and time again. I don't really understand this game where they make you feel like you are finally getting to make it happen. I know of one person in our org who got the conversion, but they work in what was a very hot topic at the time, which seemed to help get it pushed through.

I feel awful for those who have been told conversions are on the horizon and almost a done deal, only to have that taken away. I feel awful as a manager to have to be the bearer of this bad news over and over.

As far as I know it requires lot of approvals if it’s in USA
