Thread regarding Ovintiv layoffs

What's the end game?

I only see a few options.

1 - Keep under performing as a smaller, poorly managed Oil & Gas company?
2 - Buy something, incurring more debt?
3 - Sell all or part of Ovintiv now that Anadarko is closed and add in a heavy haricut to reduce headcount?

Good luck everyone.

@ap We will sell that overvalued asset in Texas as soon as our next opportunity arises in Canada. At that point we can become a true Canadian company again without all of the dead weight in Denver and Texas dragging us down. Praying that we might even be able to rebrand back to Encana!! #bringithome #inbrendanwetrust

2 core offices and 1 field office for a single shrinking asset doesn't bode well for the US. I'd expect to see less and less cross-border work distribution, an increase in contractors + knowledge transfer on the Canadian side in preparation, followed by a very disappointing sale of US operations in the next 1-2 years. Complete reversal back into Canada.

@OP nothing left to sell to buy more. It’s all gone. Not a whole lot of running room left either. Something’s gotta give
