I’m a sales associate with well rounded retail experience and knowledge. I swap posters in beauty and fragrances when the VC is away. I was given holiday seasonals to train without being a seasonal captain..I also get ask to tell employees what to do and even to reprimand them. How should I go about addressing this issue? Should I be getting paid more? any input would help.

You are not And Executive You have No Rights to Reprimand Anyone. Captains can't Even Reprimand... Only Executives Managers and Etc. So Thread Lightly That's a Law Suit Waiting to Happen.. Just Do your Job as An Associate... you're not a Manager. so Stick your Job...
Don't do any more than you have to. Nobody cares about you at macys. it's a low level hourly job. Just do your job and go home. that's it.

You're not getting more money based on what you do. It's based on position.
Your ego is going to bite you in the butt down the road. Associates don't take kindly to this kind of behavior.

You shouldnt be reprimanding anyone unless youre an Executive. HR wont care if youre in the right as you coach your peers. Its not your position to...at all. And will come with heavy consequences. Ive seen many asscoiates take down HyperPerforming types with the right number of HR Cases. So stop.
Being a "pleaser" has benefits though in a toxic culture such as Macys. But...grow up a bit. Set boundaries. And let the impulse actually benefit YOU, and only you from now on. Pull back unless its in your favor.

You should, but your doing a lot of extra work for free. Maybe express that you would like a position that pays you for the responsibility you are taking on.
