Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Free tea and coffee?

My hub doesn’t have coffee pods or tea bags, nothing. Bring your own coffee, tea bags, and bottled water.
‘So cheap

Is this just my hub or bank policy to not even offer free coffee pods and tea bag…not even water other than from the sink

We have no beverages provided and the market in the break room is monitored by cameras because people were stealing. We don't even have tissues. I guess we can be grateful they provide is paper towels though. Jfc this place is terrible to its employees it insisted it wanted in the office. Like you can try to create an "in-office culture" all you want but if you're too cheap to provide paper products and SOAP that's not exactly a shining example of how to support people you made go into offices.

At my hub we don’t even have paper towels or soap in the kitchen. We have to bring our own. Sometimes there is no soap or paper towels in the bathroom. There are water filters on the refrigerator but I don’t think they’ve been changed since before 2020. I was remote since I was hired in the 2010s so was never at this hub until this id--tic “return” to office but of the maybe 6 - 8 people who are ever here a few of them worked here before the pandemic and it was never like this before.

@dk please don't joke too much. Other Similar surveillance companies have started implementing cameras with AI to literally track time in seat. Bathroom breaks, getting water/coffee/tea, or talking to coworkers is frowned on in order to increase morale and productivity 😒

My office has a unionized coffee club where the employees band together in order to have one employee buy (sh---y) coffee (this isn't a gourmet coffee club), since us bank can not afford to buy coffee for it's employees. After covid the coffee club is no more. We have sh---y water dispensers with visible mold and corrosion, a coffee pot that looks like it's been in constant operation since the 80's. No one maintains it and it has no auto shutoff so they have had to put notes up everywhere to turn it off so it doesn't start a fire overnight.

I have to tell this to all my other engineer friends who tell me stories of cafeteria, coffee, and sometimes snacks and meals offered to employees. But they all work for employers who care about their employees and it's mostly my fault to work for someone who openly despises me and its workers and treats me like cancer to increase my morale. I wonder why people aren't returning to office? It's a grand mystery. Nobody knows.

NO Tea, Coffee, for you slave employees. As the new CEO I have allocated resources towards an IMPORTANT and ONLY new metric, which is termed "Talent and Performance," to measure how many hours your butt sticks to office chair at hub, like they do in age old sweat shops in India.

Unfortunately, the BLs have to pay (budget) for the in office drinks, so you'll find some where they have made the decision and have great drink selection, and others (offices with many BLs in the same building especially) where there is nothing.

The enterprise could make this universal, but that would require them to be nice to their workers.

@OP we have free coffee and tea but the floor smells like a dump. Carpet has to be 20+ years old - just disgusting.

No water or coffee. This place is not even operating like a regular business. Who the he-l wants to commute to this.

I feel the same way!!! What is the point of return to office if you want to make it as miserable as possible?

Yup, no nothing at my Hub either. Cafeteria is ridiculously priced as well.

My hub hasn't had free coffee in years! They do have ice/water machines, but if we want coffee or bottled water, we have to buy it from the vending/market area in the break room.
