Question About Manager Time in Office

Do managers also have to work the full eight hours in the office? I’ve noticed that some mid-level managers spend less than eight hours there.

Yes, it is the same policy for managers as well and you know it. I am just not sure about the point of this post. What were you hoping to achieve OP?

@ab HR previously answered it’s 11 days. Was that true? Nope. Neither is the 4 hours. They lied.

@ab if you believe that you are a fool! That 4 hour minimum will get restated later this year to 8 hours and your whole year of compliance will now flip to non compliant. Performance evals and comp are tied to this. This is how GK and McKinsey goon squad execs “lead” and “manage costs”. It is weak, unethical, probably illegal, and flat out wrong. But they’ve already proven this is how they think and operate. This recent fiasco is just one example.

@ab kinda like 11 days per month was the official answer for the last year or more. But then what happened? The rules were retroactively changed and compliance re calculated for all months with many if not most people now showing as non compliant. That is complete and total BULLSH-T. HR lies to our faces in writing, then disapperars the prior written communications (where are all the original FAQs that stated 11 days?), applies new rules, restates historic records regarding goals that factor into compensation, and tells us that’s just the way it is and we must comply. How is Elcio (head of HR) still employed here? Where is internal Legal council? Where is the Board? GK is an epic failure and needs to be removed from her post. Immediately.

Managers only have to work 3.5 hours. We are managers, we get more work done in a hour than you peons do in a full day.

@ab That was their answer now. It will retroactively change later this year, in the months leading up to performance evaluations. They will re-calculate compliance retroactively with 8 hours as the threshold.

Minimum day to count as an office day is 4 hours (per a question answered by HR)

Managers have the same rules as their directs. Those you see leave early has nothing to do with manager or non-manager.
