Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

I've landed at "not care"

From truly enjoying my work here years ago, to all the stress from waves of layoffs throughout the decline, now I've reached the point where I have no hope that Nike will ever again be a great company to work for, and I'm looking forward to being on the next list. I've been here too long to cut the cord easily, so the sooner they make that decision for me, the better.

@ac While it su-ks as a job seeker, this isn't exactly someone the EEOC cares about. That's just how business works. That said, I highly doubt you actually submitted anything to anyone as you are almost certainly a disgruntled ex employee or someone Nike wouldn't hire anyways

@ac or they pick a name and write their own JD.

there is a lot of foreign or h1b hiring

they can bring them in on the cheap
and order them around and they will do what they are told
since they don't want to go back to their cr-ppy country
also since most aren't terribly bright or knowledgeable
they don't compete against their manager or director
making the latter job's safe

This

They pick a name and than create the JD that fits the name, HR admitted it. I reported to the EEOC for the probe

I’m also confused at how people are getting jobs at Nike. I’ve applied for many, been encouraged to apply and been unsuccessful. Outside people I’ve heard have had a similar experience. Are all Nike jobs just an internal shell game?? Friends and family moved around to posted positions that had to be posted legally for the however many days, but promised or created for someone internal before the job ever goes to post??

have you been looking for work?

have you applied to open roles a swoosh, though this has been completely futile for me, another frustrating aspect of working for the swoosh, the refuse to even interview their own employees!
