@a7 I was let go from HP in 2001 (the WFR just before 9/11) and the severance wasn't that good, though it was better than what O has been offering.
Oracle is definitely moving the severance bar down. Block offered a better deal but they likely didn't have many very senior employees since the company isn't very old. It wasn't that long ago in tech when 2 months base salary and 2 weeks per year capped at around a year of benefits and healthcare was never less than 6 months was the norm.
