I wish they took some projects from me. It seems like an unending list. In your case I hope it just means that they or feel you have too much or there is some security reason
@df like I said, boomerslop.
@OP It could be serious or nothing, but you didn't provide enough information in your question. Is the project being given to someone else? Are you being transferred to another project? Is the project getting deprioritized? Unless the project is still ongoing and they have you sitting around not doing anything, I wouldn't worry. Management tends shuffle people around projects depending on priorities and individual skill sets. I would say, it's not great for you if they didn't tell you why they took you off a given project.
@b2 sounds like some employees are entitled and are not happy. Just remember, doors open and close everyday.
just remember, this place is not for the mentally sound or upwardly mobile, we are all at the whims of daddy's little flyboy - don't take it too personally.
@b2 pure boomerslop
@OP A better question is: why is this happening to you? If you don’t even want the job… you know it’s at-will employment, right? You can leave anytime — no one’s forcing you to stay (and you’re not even asking about the paycheck, which is kind of the whole point).
Meanwhile, maybe don’t ruin the experience for people who actually want to be there and do the work.
@a2 be prepared for a new job. My boss did same to me and there was an urgency to completing projects. my direct reports were also informed before I knew anything. Best wishes to you.
Do not train the next person, let your boss do that. You should be looking for new job.
