I think it says a lot when the April edition of “Sammy says” didn’t have one sentence about the ongoing transition to Google. We, the employees of this company, must continue to raise holy he-l. I am sick of hearing this company has made investments in software to help the employees of this company. This didn’t help anyone.
It should be no surprise that Google is a disaster.
The executives in this company have no idea how to perform a thorough cost-benefit analysis. Their decision-making capabilities are woeful. They only see the bottom line. They have no interest in weighing the pros & cons and doing a What-If Scenario Analysis. They are very lazy. That is why they budget last year + x% without digging into the details to see the real trends and understand why the numbers are what they are.
These are the same people who increase prices and then act surprised when the revenue comes in lower because they failed to take into consideration that customers will adjust their purchasing and printing behaviors accordingly. The real world does not operate in a vacuum. They must have flunked microeconomics at the University of Tokyo.
One of the biggest bone head moves Canon ever made. If anyone wonders why Q1 was in the toilet 🚽, look no further than the genius behind it and of course, Sammy Sun. If anyone should lose their job, it's the tech nerd who drove the asinine downgrade. Adapt to that feedback, tech nerd.
Are we seriously supposed to believe that the people making this decision had anyone who actually uses these applications for real work properly evaluate them before signing the contract and forcing a system change? Or is this another legacy move by Isao, similar to what Ogawa did when he shifted us from Lotus Notes to Microsoft? The difference is that Microsoft was an upgrade. Google feels like a step backward, almost worse than what we had before Lotus Notes.
I spend so much friggin’ time clearing out emails from my inbox and “labels” that get forwarded from a shared email box. I need to keep the notifications on because I need to look out for specific emails, but most of the emails that come into the shared inbox everyday are irrelevant to me and are basically spam that nobody touches. Even though I set up a bunch of filters based on common keywords to weed out the junk and star the important emails, it’s still annoying that I have to CONSTANTLY monitor the labels to make sure nothing slips through the cracks or review the miscellaneous stuff that still comes into my inbox that I haven’t created a filter for. It’s a TOTAL DISASTER. I am so furious with the bozos in management who approved of this BS. I absolutely LOATHE these EVIL people. I’m not overreacting, they truly hate us and want us to SUFFER.
Navigating Gmail is an absolute nightmare!
@OP An $8+ billion annual company trying to save $5 - $7 million by switching to a tool designed for small businesses and personal use (and collapsing productivity in the process) was... a choice.
HA!
