Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Is ESG management going against company policy?

A lot of office workers in India and the U.S. have been laid off recently.

But somehow there are still plenty of remote workers sitting in Dublin, Ireland. Why is ESG management holding onto them? What kind of justification is being made for keeping these roles?

From what I can see, most of them don’t bring anything special to the table. I’m not seeing strong skills in areas like reverse engineering or development. Honestly, it feels like teams in India or the U.S. could take over that work and do it better.

So what’s really going on here? Is ESG management going against company policy? Or do these people have connections with upper management? A lot of them seem to be legacy folks from the old Symantec days.

@c8f A remote slacker pretending to be an office worker, you are slacking off everyday, that’s why you imagine other people doing the same.

I commute 2hrs each way. I leave at 9am. I arrive a bit before 11am. I take a dump, have some coffee, and do a little work. Then at least one hour for lunch, I often go bowling. 1-2pm I crush it. Then I start driving back. Thank you hock for valuing attendance over real work. I hope your line of doom charts for attendance please you! Though I do think he enjoys the closing of offices a bit too much. Makes his wâng hard.

@axt Even hybrid workers spend at least 2 hours on commuting everyday and still have much better output than those remote slackers.

What about hybrid workers who just clock in for a few hours and leave early?

It is same here in Ontario, Canada. They keep remote workers with connections within the company who aren't even legacy. It su-ks! One who knows how to gaslight things and su-k to the management are there and many great employees did silence quit or are laid off.

Wow, Legacy Symantec remote workers. You know what happened to legacy remote CB workers? Either laid offf or forced back into the office, and that happened right after the merger. I can’t imagine legacy remote workers lasting this long.

If Jas*n is aware of this, he is so harsh on CB guys.
