Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Tell Dell - Score either a 10 or 0

You've heard it every year, "if you don't give a perfect 10 then it might as well as be a 0", so take them up on this!

I have given Dell a 0 for the past several years, in hopes it will bring change. Instead they continue with rolling layoffs, pay cuts, mandatory RTO, rotating and incompetent executive leadership, and micromanaging direct management. A far cry from what it was like a couple years back.

The past 2 years have been back-to-back double digit declines in overall eNPS. They say they listen so make your voices heard! I will be giving Dell a 0 and will be my first year also giving my manager a 0.

Context: 6 years in sales, RR

Disclaimer: Responses are anynomus but managers can and will read responses. Consider typing out your feedback then having ChatGPT reword it so it's harder to trace back

@dq It's not a rumor, it's a fact.

I retired last year. The only bright spot was my manager.
Staff meetings were quick, she pointed out individual achievements, and would back up one of her subordinates to the max as long as we did everything by the book.

I miss her and a few of my colleagues.

@OP there is a rumor that eNPS will not be asked this year

Some of our teams asked for results of Tell Dell last year. Never got it. Lots of excuses but eventually we just gave up asking.

Tell Dell is total bullsh-t!!. Our entire group was negative last year, and rightly so, about our inexperienced, incompetent Director who was brought in from a family relationship. He's a total id--t! He knows nothing about our business or our technology.

When he presented our group's Tell Dell results, they were all glowing with quotes nobody ever said. We know because we are a close group.

That's when we all knew the Tell Dell survey is total bullshiit. It's a propaganda scam. None of us are taking it this year.

@cx My direct manager us amazing and threatened only reason I am sticking around. I'll bail as soon as he retires, even if it means I have to take a job as a greeter at Walmart in California.

Given we understand it's pretty much traceable, I might word my comments about my managers such to they lay me off. I'm done with the b.s.

interesting to note that they have released it earlier this year and are also using a different company to provide the survey.

No doubt the poor score will be brushed under the carpet with the usual claim along the lines of, "we changed the scoring system this year to better reflect x, y, z. Due to this we cant really compare the score from last year but we have a number of exciting opportunities to work on going forward."

eNPS dropped from 63 in 2023 to 48 in 2024, and 32 in 2025. There was plenty of coverage of it in the news. This year you'll see a psyop among the main questions, designed to stoke your fears about the anonymity of it all.

@ba it’s anonymous and you are the problem.

Realistically, TD results mean a whopping 0% to dell execs. The eNPS score could literally be negative 100 and they will manipulate that score into a 95% on their little "all hands" powerpoint bs they give.

Take last year for example. 5 days/week RTO was implemented. Remote workers became ineligible for promotions or internal movement, also.

Not sure about other managers but ours shares the results with us after they are released. The eNPS score was EXTREMELY low; along with most scores... and a month later during our all hands org meeting, the eNPS score + other scores were conveniently high, and total BS. Sorry but I don't believe for a second that any company score would be above 50 at this point.

The main issue with TD though is that most people either know, or think that, these surveys are not anonymous, therefore inflate scores simply as a "just in case."

First of all... TD survey's are NOT entirely "anonymous" like they claim. Anything you do on the internet - even if it's internally such as TD - can be traced back to you. That includes every single post/comment that is made on this site as well, btw. For TD, they are using a 3rd party company now and who tf knows what they monitor... but your survey sure af isn't "anonymous."

Secondly... These surveys mean nothing anyways. Dell execs don't ACTUALLY use them to better the company - or anything - but use them to get a basline as to where the employees mindset is at. The eNPS score last year was absolute DOG WATER and that score was 100% altered in the "all hands" meeting, and blown past pretty dang quickly. I mean, it's just a powerpoint slide anyways so they can put in whatever numbers they want to make sht look "good."

Lastly... I'd say the best way to go about TD is to either not do it at all, or rate your manager, then fill everything else in as a 4 or 5, or N/A because anything below a 6 is a detractor.

For me personally though, I have a LOT of negative things to say about my new manager however, because I know these aren't 100% anonymous and because I value my job, I will be rating him with high stars which are very much not deserved.

Does your manager inspire you? That's a big one for managers. Keep in mind the micro BS around RTO with the power trip.

F@ck them to the wall. Regardless of if they change anything. Lean into them hard and name names.

Don't submit a survey, they don't care anyhow. Deprive them of this useless checkmark.

they always can track it back to you, it is not anonymous. That particular email sent regarding TD also didnt mention any kind of anonymity.

I just roll all 10s and book my next golf round with higher management lol/s

🤣 LOL!! You actually thought Tell Dell had an impact??? Tell Dell is the biggest farce at Dell. The results are totally manipulated by management. And no, it is NOT anonymous.

I predict after this years Tell Dell results, there won't be a survey next year.

A ‘0’ will be disregarded as an outlier. Better to give a ‘5’ or ‘6’ and get coworkers to give the same.
