At least 80% of tech folks are not working as leadership said months ago that layoffs and reorg are coming. Yet things are still smooth and nothing is on fire.
Zero communication from tech leaders since their phony vague meetings.
Cut them and 80% of tech so we can lower ops cost and wait for some product to pull us out of this.
Embarrassed at how little work there is in tech yet 7k employees and layers upon layers of leadership.
Never forget - AC must go….

“Cut tech” she says from the high speed WiFi in the cafeteria on her MacBook Pro sitting next to her iPhone Pro Max, air pods, iPad, and $600 of apple adapters in her backpack .. while checking her Apple Watch. All paid for by Nike.
If you’re on a team that relies on tech support, you know how terrible the support is because they hold the keys to the kingdom of our shotty tools that we’re forced to use, we can’t get any worse than the support (lack of), agreed get rid, start over. The big reorg months ago got rid of some bad apples/but they still exist. They don’t know how to engage/understand needs of the business or teams using the tools, they just care about themselves and their stamp on things.
20% of the tech employees are doing 80% of the work
The issue is I don’t trust leadership to cut the people who are slacking. I see lots of engineers with principle title or higher who have created job security through complexity
We need a tech leader willing to bite the bullet, and rip the bandaid off
A perfect example is workspace services team. We should be using our tooling directly, not using unnecessary abstraction layers that are terribly maintained. That entire team should go
If tech gets cut the checks stop flowing in. There's no way our leaders reduce headcount in ITC
Correction: Nike Tech FTEs are not working :) ETWs are handling all the heat.
You have verified this well enough to reach your conclusion? Sounds like you "are not working as leadership said months ago".
If you were truly busy, you wouldn't have time to track what "at least 80% of tech folks" are or are not doing.
