Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

How low can stock go?

$25/share in 2026?

Appears no growth left… Analysts and banks have all unfortunately reduced price targets last week post earnings.

Technical analysis sees a fall to the 30s and then a catalyst for a jump. Probably the jump is… firing the ceo

@OP , technically, it can go to $0. Not looking good today; tested a new low of $42.39. Shorts are running the show. Last week, NKE took over last place on the DOW (Weighted Rank 30), and sliding downward on the S&P 500 (Market Cap Rank 181). Short Interest jumped up significantly after the earnings release.

The tariffs have been a major headwind to earnings. On top of that there is a trouble in China and Emea. Need to lap the tariffs to see upside. Takes long time to unwind the stupidity of dunce JD.

@as I think announcing investors day now is strategic. They know people were hoping for a faster turnaround, and just announcing it isn't going to be enough to impact stock now, but my best is they time it for when they expect the turnaround, with just a touch of forced demand to juice the numbers for the first quarter, get investors interested again, then hope to ride the wave. This is mostly a financial play, but it does rely on wholesale growth to pick up some. Nike grew too complacent expecting investors to just trust the growth and stopped doing investor days. Hopefully some humility will stick.

EH and BOD hopes first investor day since 2017 can save us.
Hope this approach does not backfire with Olympics-esque pathetic product innovation!
