I don’t know where those of you who are twiddling your thumbs work, but I 100% agree with the comment from the Finance person. They are working us like dogs, and it is relentless with no hope of it letting up. For my mental and physical health, I cannot continue like this. I am grateful that I can quit this company soon, but I feel really bad for my younger colleagues, especially in this challenging job market.
No, CVX doesn't need to lay anyone off, just half the company sitting around doing nothing and collecting a paycheck, lol.

I do work but my boss definitely does not. Literally of no use. Just hanging around bumping gums.
