Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layed off without any recommendation\reference letter like trash, the next company would think I was layed off due to poor performance. Wtf.

How can I prove to my next employer that I was layed-off not due to my performance.

In 25 years of my career nobody ever asked me for a reference for software engineering.

Time at Oracle is viewed quite positively. It's a tough environment with very technical products sold to large customers. I was one of the top interviewers at Google last year.

If you can't handle the spelling of "layed-off", you have bigger problems.

Companies stopped doing references decades ago for legal reasons. If a company calls Oracle HR to see if you worked there the most they will do is confirm you were an employee and for how long. You prove to your next employer you are qualified through your resume and by how well you handle the interview. If you are a software developer I would spend some of your interview prep on LeetCode and be able to describe how you use AI tools to enhance your development skills. If they want references they will want personal references which is where your network comes in.

if by some miracle it's not our resident troll: this mass layoff is literally in news.
it's not 19th century, nobody gives you letters of recommendation on exit
