In all seriousness, it's disappointing to work for a company that is obsessed with micromanagement and RTO, instead of focused my on metrics that matter and the results produced. Instead it's totally arbitrary blanket policies that have a massive negative impact on morale, encourages talent and SMEs to leave, and creates.a work culture of doing the bare minimum to meet arbitrary metrics and not get fired. The result: a quagmire of bureaucracy, where it's nearly impossible to innovative, different learning and working styles are not embraced, and there is no sense of community or identity, and everyone is devoid of any enthusiasm to work other than than sycophants and boot lickers with no real talent other than making loud noises.
If only they treated salaried engineers with college degrees like adults instead of toddlers, and they gave them the freedom and tools to succeed, it could be a nice place to work. Instead, intense micromanagement, obsession with RTO, and hiring contractors in the Philippines because in person communication is so important.
I promise you, once this market turns, the labor market is bare, those who were short sighted and didn’t handle their employee engagement properly will pay the price. I’ve been around long enough to see USB go through it more than once. They have to offer hiring bonuses to get people. Meanwhile other companies are reaping the benefits of the people who just needed proper leadership to thrive.
