Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Hope you're hungry for nothing

The budgets are in. Salary increases are unimpressive. RSU allotments are a complete joke. Don't worry, though, the least inspiring CEO of all time is getting paid plenty for his tip-top layoff skills.

If you guys truly want to take the management a peg down, start posting cryptic updates on projects you are working on here, or just say how the environment is so messed up and you haven't been able to do your job, when traders with deep pockets see it, and it gets picked up in the news cycle and the stock price starts dropping, thats when real change will happen. The only way anything changes is when stock prices fall

My answer is straightforward: if my compensation is reduced, my productivity will decrease at the same proportional rate.

When do the merit increases (if any) get announced/

Paltry raises and substandard RSUs… after announcing $250 million in stock buybacks? The C suite gets a boost in share value, and we get treated like this. Strategic if you ask me… they’re counting on attrition.

Budgets are in and managers have no control. If you’re a top performer the best merit increase will be 5-8%. On average 2-4%. RSUs are not guaranteed. Your VP takes into account overall scenario of everyone under them and makes RSU recommendations.

@ej To me it's nothing to do with country specific or level specific. After I worked here for 18 years, my manager started to give me RSU, probably due to a sudden awakening of conscience.

@d8 This is unfortunately true.

@d5 RSUs are country specific and level specific

@d8 I didn’t get any so I guess they don’t give them to everyone as part of the salary. I just joined in the last 6 months

@d8 do the salary hikes on par with Ansys?

@a1 You'll be lucky to beat inflation with the merit increase, and you'd better hope you're a "top performer" if you want RSUs worth anything at all.

@d5 Coming from Ansys, RSUs were part of most employees' salaries (unless they were outright poor performers on PIPs). By contrast, Synopsys sees RSUs as rewards for performance so now I have to give some perfectly good employees nothing and even the highest performers are receiving less than they did under Ansys.

@OP are RSU only given to certain levels? New employees here (I know what timing) and I wonder if they are awarded based on years of service or level
