Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Every few months they shake up the whole structure again

I can't keep track of who I report to anymore or what I'm supposed to be working on. Projects constantly get started and then abandoned mid stream. Can somebody explain to me how this complete chaos benefits anybody, including Nike?

This is a problem across the company, not only in tech. We barely get our momentum back after the last reorg / shake up and then another one happens and the confusion starts all over again.

Well, here’s the deal, you have these fake “project teams“ like RPO who have a manager that is trying to push work through or create fake work that adds absolutely zero value. In fact that work creates work for the teams that have real work to do. The work is so worthless that if a project slowly fades away, nobody notices because it never actually added value to begin with. You aren’t alone! The moral of the story is there are managers out there who are trying to validate their existence with the creation of fake “project“ work. I would run as fast as you can. Eventually those are the teams that will disintegrate.
