I am in the transition category. I went through a roller coaster of emotions. I am exhausted. I know many feel the same. I feel in a way cheated being "offered" to transition to new company versus severance. For those who were laid off are you comfortable sharing what was offered for severance? I am in the US been with the company for 20 years. This su-ks all around for anyone impacted

Unsure about a cap, but I did make a note that it states COMPLETED years of service. 11 months != a full year. It's whole years only the last time I looked at this. Fun fact- they released a new version of the documentation denoting severance right before all of the layoffs started.
@a3 there was nothing too petty for them. Their strategy was, "Can we get the fillings out of their teeth, if they paid for them with FIS Dental Benefits."
Last year severance was capped at 52 weeks.
Anyone know if they cap severance at 52 weeks?
@a4 I have not received any information on the severance. I was told we should by the end of the week.
Can you refuse transitioning, and take severance instead?
take the job. seek legal counsel. judges do not like companies that do this.
I still have not got my letter yet. Has everyone else got theirs?
@OP For those of us that are in the severance category, they followed the severance policy guidelines. It was basically 2 weeks for every year served. What I am most angry about is that they dangle to compensation carrot in front of you, have you sign the compensation letter. Then gave us until June 30th the day before the increase was to go into effect. Severance package did not include the new compensation.
Unsure if they have changed the policy, I was let go last year and it was 2 weeks per year. You can take COBRA for healthcare as well - I went on my spouse's insurance instead. In this situation I'm not sure if you have the option for severance if you were offered transition. The policy excludes that situation.
