It’s year end, how many people will be laid off this time?

@b0b hasn't accounting been sent to Portugal?
If software gets cut, what would be left. Marketing, accounting, logistics (even though DHL runs the distribution centers), Consumer Prroducts, and automotive. Doesn't sound like there is a lot left.
@a0q lol Bose leadership = 🤡
@7b1 In order to be better, you have to be different. LOLLOLLOL
More to come begging of July. I hear software is going to get hit now.
@6t0 every soudtouch product Bose has disabled internet radio from. Soundtouch app is no longer supported, the last update for it was maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Bose Connect app is next to being no longer supported.
Now that Bose has disabled internet stations on my Wave radio, I will be actively discouraging everyone I know from every buying Bose products again.
I saw the new lifestyle sound sound bar and speakers. My gut is saying this is a last ditch effort to give the perseption that they are trying. If this product line fails, which it most likely will, it will be the final nail in the coffin.
@52p 14 total products are sold at Best Buy. 3 sound bars, 2 bass boxes, 5 bluetooth speaker and 5 head phones/ ear buds. Then you protable pro, which is 2 or 3 products. Lastly you have aviation headsets, 2 models. Automotive is only for OEM and not avialible to consumers. Plus, it is the only division they are putting money into.
Ecco 1 or aka soundtouch was turned off in February. Support for any products is a joke. Both bass boxes pop when not hooked up with a wire. TV speaker squeals. The community page was shut down by Lila because of all the complaints. Bose distribution centers are being run by DHL and repair is done by Reconext in Mexico.
At least the mountain still has it's ESG score, Chief People Officer, and all the corporate virtrue signaling. I am pretty sure the will be a ceromny next month to raise the pride flag. Good job team.
Bose never learned: Never put a woke chiuck in charge of anything but doing the dishes.
@52p Bose dropped the ball on headphones and earbuds. I discovered a brand (Nura) about 5 years ago that has since been purchased by Denon and its technology included in their earbuds. Without question they are the best sounding buds and headphones that I have ever owned. Where Bose dropped the ball was that these products measured your hearing response through a set-up via their app that allowed the product to customize it's eq curve to your hearing profile, and it works amazingly well. Same price point and lower that Bose always played at. Custom response curves, eq control, ANR, social modes, multiple hearing profiles stored, etc. That's wellness and innovation. What has Bose done recently?... Where have they innovated anything new? all they do is run at the back of the pack.
Does anyone have an idea of product pipelines? It's wild to see how much it has shrank, you can do so many colors of headphones before you need to actually make a new one.
As a ECO2 owner still waiting to see if I ever get a new music service natively supported LOL.
Yes, Automotive will be much more valuable to a buyer it they're in Michigan. This looks like Automotive preparing to be sold as a separate, Michigan-based operation.
@40d the only thing left that is making money. Increase the value of automotive. Then they can sell it for more. Basically the same thing as remodeling a house before you sell it.
@366 Yet, they're building a big automotive R&D facility in Michigan? Strange.
@366 The leadership is setting up Bose to fail. Lila and the board want Bose to fail. This makes it look like Bose is not worth saving. Hostile take over of the private shares from MIT and sell everything off. Ride off into the sunset with pockets full of money. Make it easier for them. Look for another and leave.
I can confirm they laid off a three engineers on a team yesterday. Even though two of them can easily meet/fill the requirements of an active open position on their team, they were ousted. Their director is the worst in this division. He is incapable of leading his teams to success and is the whole reason for this team being under water and no hope in sight.
The mantra "doing more with less", has been broadcast every year since 2020. Basically, they had multiple waves of layoffs since 2020 and as teams shrink, management pushes those remaining to pickup the slack. No regard for continuously overworking employees, especially those that are on VISAs and would have to immediately leave the country if let go.
What was sad and amusing to me over the past couple of years is how one team has lost so many people skilled on the platform features that the team cannot respond promptly on defects because they are missing subject matter experts. Unfortunately, this is a constant theme across teams.
I wonder how many will be left in a year.
@OP They started last week
