Just like most of you, I was miserable at TD. Doing the workload of two jobs, with a horrible management team. But for some reason, I wasn’t interviewing because the thought of juggling a job search and an insane workload at TD stressed me out. Well I already landed a new job (much better company) with a 20% pay increase. TD severance still running through May. This is a message to everyone still there - you HAVE to start interviewing! The ship is sinking rapidly, but if you put your mind to it, you can land another job pretty quickly. The job market is bad, but not THAT bad. Get out while you still can! Your life will improve!

Turdata is dying a slow and painful death and trying to milk Stockholm Syndrome customers for as long as they can, so resorting to PIP's vs. expensive severance packages shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody. Anybody that is not nearing retirement that is not looking elsewhere should get their head examined.
@4w9 What Im saying is a company thats consistently making less money yoy that chooses to use pips to reduce headcount will get caught. In court judges are usually on the employees side before even hearing the case.
If Teradata wants to reduce headcount fine do it the ethical way with pre announced layoff numbers.
Not that I really care about Teradata but acting unethical to potentially save some money could get much more expensive in court.
@4je pips are a ridiculious hr trick to try and paint an employee unqualified before letting them go. Unfortunately for terrible companies like Teradata employment attorneys can rip through their nonsense if push comes to shove.
Quickly showing a judge that Teradata is using pips to reduce workforce. Which they hate.
@4h7 PIPs are not rare and if you were not asleep at the wheel, you would know that. If you were worth anything and doing a good job, our stock might make it over 27.
@4h7 curious ba5tard.
@43h how was your performance in recent years? Were you still pushing hard or asleep at the wheel? PIPs are rare at Teradata so I'm curious
@43h Unbelievable but not unexpected. Sorry this happened to you. I think the entire ELT should be on a PIP...shameful what this once proud company has become.
I got put on a pip, and asked if they would just term me immediately. They refused, and insisted this was to "improve performance", but it just seems like its more to try and convince me to quit so they dont have to pay unemployment.
The moral of the story is...every dog has its day,
@1k8 Maybe he's been RIF'd...Karma...
Where is Super -engineer to tell everyone how Teradata is better without them. He’s been strangely quiet.
This place has gotten so bad that I'm seriously considering walking away with nothing lined up. I've had a couple interviews, and recently started being fully active in the job search, but the stress of teradata and job hunting is overwhelming.
5$ each
I’m not entirely sure if you’re a troll or not, but the advice is nevertheless solid: If you don’t like working at Teradata, you should definitely interview elsewhere.
Life outside of teradata is a lot better. My manager now cares about me and we don't have toxic leadership.
Yes. As I previously said, getting laid off is the best thing that ever happened to me in that company. I'm feeling alive again, after years of sleepless nights and anxiety. New career opportunities, a better life, a better health (mental and physical)...Those are some of the many "perks" I got from not being there anymore.
Landed a new job as well after being RIF'd recently...stress levels are so much better now and there are much more life and enjoyment AFTER Teradata.
Also landed a new job. START INTERVIEWING.
Thanks for the optimism. Currently looking, had a few interviews already, but no offer yet. Only thing keeping me going is the thought of putting in my 2 weeks and never thinking of this company again.
