Title says it all. Exxon will not stop untill all engineering and research is done in India or even lower cost countries. There are several studies going on now that are looking at BTC capabilities and off shoring to India. The only jobs will be at the physical plants for operations. Everything else will be outsourced. We already have BTC engineers working at several plants in rotation. Look around and see the future. Costs saving are exxons future. The bottom line is the most important constant and nothing else matters.

That was the old goal..the new goal is AI which can do way more, way cheaper. The MSPs in our group have been so bad we may get one good one out of 20, and so much time is wasted training them up, getting them access to our systems, then getting rid of them after they flounder for a few months not accomplishing anything…wasting not only their time but the valuable time of the good folks…and Then we start the cycle over again
Shell has installed high throughput testing equipment at their Technology Center in India. I would expect that our Clinton and Baytown based high throughput testing equipment will be relocated to India in the near future.
