Please say we at least get the WFH next week this Friday, it’s time to be done.

@dg “The charges — mostly related to employee severance costs — will be recognized in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, and the company may take more such actions, which could result in additional charges, Nike said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.” 300 mill plus “additional charges” …. They left themselves a blank check
Employees in the DCs and EHQ had low salaries. The bulk of the $300M will be used to lay off PHK Tech workers.
@cw I think a lot of people don’t understand that 300M was used for the logistics centers, EHQ and maybe the GT layoff in June. It’s not a new check to be used just by GT.
@cq
Don’t forget:
- PTO Payout
- Cobra
- Hundreds already implicated in the $300m, Converse, Memphis, etc.
Pencil it out and get back to me in three weeks.
Big worried looks on SDs with decades of experience.
@cr
This is the way.
@cj I’m getting the feeling that there will be heavy senior leadership impact as well … all the SDs I’ve spoken with do not have a good feeling about what little has been shared with them thus far. Lots of folks taking last minute sabbaticals
Definitely, but even with an average of 300k per layoff all inclusive, that would be a thousand people. And 300k is on the high side. A lot of old-timers were let go in previous waves.
@cm
Consider:
- Accelerated vesting for September grant
- FY26 Bonus eligibility
- Leadership salary as a 4-7x multiple of IC
They’ve dragged this out too long. I’d prefer a quick 15 minute meeting explaining I’m cut and how to proceed
The anticipation of waiting 1-2 months creates a bad mood all around
@cj, your numbers seem too low. 800 people minimum, 1500 max.
@ch haven't heard a thing timing wise, but that playbook sounds realistic
@ch
This could be the most top heavy event in company history.
- 1 in 5 VP
- 2 in 5 SD
- 1 in 7-10 D
- ~2-300 IC
@c7 sounds very plausible, but maybe only because of the level of detail and bullet points LOL. In all seriousness, I’m hearing the same
@c5
3.31 - referenced in earnings
3.31 - more context in EE
4.3 - wfh announcement
4.6 - 80% of the target
4.7 - 15-19%
4.8 - remaining
4.8-9 - all clear
4.9 - pre recorded EH message
No warn filed, compensation in lieu of. Taking everyone past 6.1, retaining FY26 bonus eligibility.
I can't imagine dragging this out any longer and hope it's next week. But have been told from a trusted source who seems to be in the know on rumors, that it's Apr 27
it's so weird how they did those 'announce' meetings per org, what, a month ago? And then nothing....small sec cut, that's done
what happened, did they change their mind?
did they read all the posts about the swoosh favoring non-american workers and sending money to india and then have a sudden 'show of patriotism' ?
are they going to announce that we're in the all clear, or just let it run through, keep us eternally in the dark?
who knows!!!
meanwhile worker productivity tanks, margins further slip, quality degrades, dot com frequently has intermittent errors, user experience slips further and further causing a perpetual cycle of downturn and lower revenue
but our 'strategy ' is working!
we 'saved' 1 million in worker salary (as the website tanks causing 30 million in lost revenue)
normally this would be unbelievable
NORMALLY!!!
Week after next?
