I'm curious what the GL is of the folks that post here. Not trying to be inflammatory or judgmental at all, just curious to put the comments into context. BTW if you have to ask what's a GL, you're probably not an employee.

- I know some a couple of 31s and 30s on here coz they are my friends
Are these GLs mixed (onsite and offshore)?
Gl 29 coming up on 15 yrs maybe. For sure looking but know I'll be offshored or automated out of a job sometime in future. I should be able to retire early but just fear the unknown a bit. The last year ive been thinking about retirement every morning. Cause work su-ks

27, will be six years next month.
26, started with the company three years ago.
GL 28, starter at GL 22 15 years ago.
@jp they have a redeployment team. I was contacted through them. According to what I learned in the process they hold back a limited amount of jobs just for that team to be able to offer. You have to be in a good rating when rif’d to be eligible.
GL27 about to make 6 years
Pretty sure I’m gone in the next round as my TX counterpart was let go last round.
28, individual contributor. Think I was 25 when I joined. 6 years too many.
@gz can I ask how you were brought back? Did you reapply for a new role?
GL26 and I’ll be here four years in May
Started at GL27 12+ years ago. At GL29 currently, individual contributor.
Was a gl28
I’m a 28
I am a GL 27. Five years in.
GL 27 with 5 years tenure. I was rif’d a year ago. Then brought back. I was rated 5’s every year and then this year a rated 3 after moving to a new team. Such a toxic environment I resigned.
GL 28 with over 25 years w/ UHG.If I say years, may be easy to pick me out of a lineup. Well over 25..
GL 27
@dt went is a reorg bad? Who cares about reorgs. Good luck in your new job
I was a 25 with 25+ yrs when RIFd
GL27 with 15 years tenure -- RIFed in January 2026.
Bull you are just trying to justify who you are commenting against here to make yourself feel superior like the meaningless director you are.
GL28 and been with the company for almost 8 years, started of as a GL22.
GL 28, 15 years. mistakenly went to HR years ago so no promos. i'm just staying until i'm laid off and i can retire early. lesson: don't go to HR at this company
26 here with 10 years
@dw company is collapsing from ineptitude and complete misunderstanding of the market. What you get when you focus on AI hype rather than understand our industry and you bark orders to do it now but the plans change by the week.
Lots more RIFs coming. Big name departures which won't get publicly announced. Products/projects will disappear.
gl30, 5 years tenure
@cj spill some beans pls..32 Know a lof of what's going on. I hear there is another layoff in IT in April under Zmuda's cost cutting directions.. anything you can share?
@dq just 28 after 30 years!?? U deserve a higher grade n maybe this is a good thing in the long run. Sorry you got RIFed. Good luck
29, new hire IT role and already heard my team is getting re-orged in April and I have no billable project! Biggest mistake of my career joining UHG when I had another offer from a competitor. Let this serve as a warning for the rest of you
@dr internal role ? Is it easier than applying externally?
@OP I'm a 30. RIF'd 2 years ago but slid into another job before being let go.
Seems like a lot of folks here around the same grades. A few I never hear of.
GL 28 and was RIF’d last year after 30+ years with the company. All reviews were 4/5. Kept my Associate Director who did little to help the team and berated me when anything went wrong. In my honest opinion, she should have been laid off.
GL28 with almost 7 years of experience. SME in my area too.
29 with 15 years of service, was let go on 3/19.
28, with two decades tenure, never rated below a 4 in all those years, 11 of them I was I rated a 5. I haven’t been RIF’d yet but none of us are safe.
