Has anyone heard of anything brewing in OT, ORx OI etc? O lot of VP's have resigned in the last 2 weeks, I wonder if they were offered a package or knew something bad was coming?

@mp Rumor of course.
@ka Do you have any names or is this a rumor?
more non-announcements coming soon of exec departures. some are along regular Thursday RIFs to align with new job offers and milk that severance, others are Optum is not renewing their contracts (yes SLT/ELT all have those), and MANY are volunteer exits
rats are fleeing the sinking ship
AI stuff is raising flags around upcoding and denial shenanigans from providers and payers. house of cards is falling, that su-king sound you hear is the profit leaving for-profit healthcare.
@ee all of us are so spun up in fear of losing our jobs, another re-org, reporting to some Indian whose caste prevents humanity and generally overworked that it's hard to think and ask questions.
It's by design until the lights get turned off and the execs have their payday.
Bigger question is how the company grows by the requisite 10-15% per year to justify getting back to a $600 stock price and grow from there. It's not possible even if we did everything right - we needed to change course to focus on more profitable things, selling to more external clients, and cutting pointless executives and their pet projects.
@bv same for everything other than "I was laid off today" or "I read the org chart in Teams and saw so and so is gone"
questions:
why didn't it launch 1-2 years ago?
how many Payers are committed?
how many Payers are making their own version?
how many EHRs will provide the same services?
how will we get it in EHRs?
how much are we charging clients for it?
how much money do we make on it?
how many AI startups have superior, less expensive versions of [all] Optum products?
We're the least-liked Payer and network traffic. That's it. That's UNH. API/real time will replace the networks. RIFs follow regardless of paid reposted articles about undervalued shares, 10million-X AI slop stories, doula announcements, ring kissing trips to DC, etc.
Only hope is splitting the company: PBM, Pharmacy, OF, OH, OI and a major rebrand of UHC as a less evil company. If not and most likely, the bits will be unceremoniously shed for peanuts as leaders peel off to destroy other companies.
Mid April is going to impact UHC as well. When it hits UHC you know it's gone deep
@b7 lol, are you De-------t?
@b7 This sounds like opinion. nobody is privy to this info
anyone have names, areas or projects to be aware of?
Optum functions for UHC will be rebadged barring a regulatory issue, other things will fold in phases over 2026.
Big names paraded at industry conventions are leaving. It was announced to their downline that the person in charge of our "flagship provider product" is leaving along with their boss who will be "reassigned". Our "flagship RCM provider product" will get mothballed and rolled back into UHC.
Run to the exits after bonus and RSUs. People need time to line up a new job. Departures reduce the cost of mid-April severance charges.
UNH to be valued only on UHC, think <$200. This is SH's end game, he F'd this big time. SH's Hail Mary is to use SD to turn Optum AI brand into Wipro/Infosys, to flush us further down the drain. Bye bye Optum.
@ac Can you imagine them trying to to survive on severance packages we get?
Execs cashed out their stocks months ago (when it was much higher, waited for their big bonuses to hit, and took a hefty severance package. Played their hands well. 👏
@OP I know that higher leadership was asking Optum Insight leadership for more names to throw in the hat for RIFs. They just wanted names, there was no reasoning on higher order logic, nor any guarantee they were all RIFs, or just some.
There's more coming folks - Uniteds' financial reports have a pretty bulky entry for what I have come to understand is a line item for severance.
@a4 Certainly possible and I say well-played.
@OP Were they just waiting for their bonuses to hit their account?
