Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Mass firings in Utah Gas Distribution

Is the new Canadian dude reporting to Michelle a hatchet man or what? More people fired in the last 2 weeks than in the previous 50 years combined.

Don't forget offices closing, longer drives. No truck take home. Possible wage reduction. It's been a steady decline for Enbridge. They treat their employees like trash. The top make money but every one has to scale back.

DITTO to my experience. Went from best employer to the worst

Welcome to the Enbridge family. After 20 years in this company, I can sadly say it ain't the same anymore.

Here's a list of what you can expect

Your benefits will be reduced
Retiree benefits will be cut, if they haven't already
There will be a cull of people every 1-3 years. Sometimes 500-1000 at a time. Usually a lot more at the beginning
Prepare for your work to be contracted out
Any safety culture you previously had will be diminished - throughput over safety!
They will go to any length to ensure the Dominion name is erased
Expect your unions to get squeezed and have a hard time renewing contracts
If Ontario is any example, expect your emergency response teams to be 95% contracted out
A corporate shell game has already begun to contract your work out
Expect the workplace to become more toxic with an emphasis on blame shifting
Be wary of any last chance agreements
Your in-house IT staff will be gone ASAP with the jobs sent to India
Once again, I take this opportunity to welcome you to this wonderful family.
