Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Is everyone getting cr-ppy raises or just me?

Most glowing review yet, but smallest increase I’ve ever had in my 15 years here. Is this a reflection of the budget overall or is this a personal issue?

@z3 nah that sounds like a middle of the road raise for people performing and meeting expectations.

Less than 3%. Met expectations, not really sure how I could do better last year with all the BS.

@z3 I got 2% and am pi---d. Our team is down a person and I would put money that my counterpart got a much higher raise the me while I’m covering way more work!

Review was the lowest I’ve had at Target. Almost felt like a slap in the face. Would love to know what my counterpart got who kisses everyone’s a-s. Ugh

I left for a 25% raise after being labeled as an "underperformer" at Target and am now a strong performer at my current company. Funny how that works.

@q8 That's if they truly want to keep you because I would bet that even if you put in your notice, they won't fight it. After the last wave of mass layoffs, and the few smaller ones that didn't make it to the news in 2024; I am getting the impression that they don't really care about keeping senior level employees who have been loyal and putting in the extra work and hours -- they would rather fire or layoff those who are L5 and L6, and hire L4s to do the grunt work, and underpay them than invest in those who have been there 10+ years or more.

The only way you are going to receive any kind of a substantial increase is to leav3 Target. They preach development, encourage taking leadership initiative, yet never want to reward those behaviors. Trust me, Target doesn’t recognize your true value until you put in your notice, then will scramble to try to find a way to keep you. By then, it’s too late because another company has already woke you up to the reality that Target was really holding you back.

Haven’t had my review yet….tomorrow. But not very hopeful based on business performance (not my performance)

Giving 4-5% raises to Target employees who complain at every turn about RTO, come on.
Sales numbers are down company wide.

Big Target raises are like patting the Captain of the Titanic on the back for a job well done.

The ship is sinking and you are important cogs in it. Enjoy!

Yeah high performer here used to 4-5% annual raise but got 3% even though review and outcomes were strong this year

@dh was your STI multiplier at the 75% or higher? My raise was 3% but my bonus was equivalent to 82%, slightly above the corporate baseline. It sounds like you were squarely at meets expectations.

@am 2.9%. I know other people get lower, but mine have always been between 3-4%. Considering that I had a year where I took on several leadership initiatives and my review was all positive and full of compliments, the sub-3 number was surprising.

So what was your increase then?
