Am I understanding this correctly?
Or is it dropping 10% like this month !?

@ea the reason they don’t fire a big chuck end of Feb is because the targets were achieved before that for the year.. and with one Dell way implementation due in May, they wanted to slow down a bit..
That said, the hc reduction will continue in accelerated manner, next 2 years expected to reduce another 20-22k bringing the hc down to 75k.
Well the fact that there wasn't a "large" layoff this February/March is a good sign... For the last 6 years or so it's been a consistent 2-5k layoff every Feb and August so, maybe they are happy now?
@OP I had predicted this number by August last year.. check out my post -> https://www.thelayoff.com/post/@OP+1jz8dr38e
@c3 Probably hiring more Western Asian males! The 2030 forecast got skewed by outsourcing.
Not nearly as many people as a lot of other companies.
time to unionize!!!!
Employee numbers based on 10K Filings for the last 4 years:
If the trend continues then expect next year to be 87,000.
Also, for what its worth, the following statements were removed from the Feb 25' 10K and have not been reinstated since. I wonder what changed!
"By 2030, 50% of our global workforce and 40% of our global people leaders will be those who self-identify as women."
"By 2030, 25% of our U.S. workforce and 15% of our U.S. people leaders will be those who self-identify as Black or African American or as Hispanic or Latino."
cr-ppy, corrupt company that could care less about it's workforce.
@a9 That's around 20 people axed per week.
The SEC released the 10-K yesterday. Just search for Dell 10-K filing. Last year, Dell was at 108,000 and now Dell is at 97,000. That is a heck of a lot of people. I agree with people on this posting, they really did a good job on hiding it.
They never state it but I believe they are going to go even faster on the replacement of people with AI this year. Most Dell people are told to use the AI tool in ever increasing increments. The day they say don't check the AIs work is the day the layoffs accelerate even faster. They must be checking for accuracy. How? I have no idea.
They bleed us slowly so we don’t make the news cycle. Don’t spook the shareholders.
Dell is soon becoming Gateway Computers 2.0, only Gateway had much cooler logos and branding.
companies lay off enough people, people won't be able to afford products these companies sell no matter how much AI they have. Could be self deprecating in the long run. Be careful what you wish for.
Yeah, it means they cut 10,000 people over the last year.
Consider how many stories you heard about government officials in cushy taxpayer jobs whining about getting fired on 60 Minutes, compared to how many interviews they did with the tens of thousands of tech workers who got laid off through no fault of their own.
I guess government workers are just more important?
yep, I was one at 60 years old in Hopkinton in ISG. ISG is gradually phasing out older workers, especially in US and opening up new recs in India.
36,000 in the last 4 years were let go. Agile, innovative?! Bwahaha
So that's 10% over the course of 2025 which is considered as fiscal 2026. Boy. They sure did it in phases. Didn't notice that many people got let go.
