Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Not what I expected

Started in January and with all the hybrid jobs I started looking. Good luck ATT you are back in the 80’s with punch card 8 hours and 5 days office your deliverables, innovation, and appl support is out the door

With rising fuel prices and possible shortage, eventually RTO will be stopped. So, finally what company achieved is loss of good employees.

Good you realize early this is not for you. The traffic, the aggravation, high prices all around, the toxicity. Get out while you can! Bye, bye!

Don't wait for the company to make YOU happy, that's YOUR responsibility.

@d6 imagine being so stupid that you think you must RTO to “actually work” in 2026…. Ge-z. Remote work and hybrid are the industry standard, whether you like it or not, buddy.

@ak - Stay unhappy guy or do something about it. Most people at ATT are risk averse and that is ok. The issue w being risk averse is that you have to roll with the punches that upper management has you do. You can complain all you want or do something about it. We all have the savings/capital to invest in ourselves. The company will even pay us to go grab an education. A few of us have the motivation/will and confidence to do this. Most of you unfortunately, do not.

@OP yes. I personally started a new company and invested in a telecom startup. Life is good. Been employed with ATT for 20+ years and will sit around the office until my boss figures out that I am literally doing nothing. I may just end up leaving here anyway. RTO forced me to do this and I am so happy that I did. Good luck to all and there are much greener pastures out here.

@a5 I’m sorry, but are you so d-mb that you actually think people come to this site to champion and cheer on RTO? Nobody likes RTO and it’s gutting the company. Please give it up little girl.

All you have to do is show up and sit around for 8 hours each day. Nobody gives a sh!t about deliverables anymore. Loyalty is dead, productivity is dead, this company is dead. Any motivation anyone had left died with 5 day RTO. You’ll notice more and more of the best people we have choosing to exit because of this exactly.
