Employees of Intel not in alignment with RTO will begin to be culled starting in April.

@et Bingo. Firing for cause = no severance, usually no unemployment (depends on the state). If you're "laid off" then none of the above applies. But, in both scenarios you're looking for work. Are all Intel employees purposely ignorant about how at will employment works or are they just entitled to their jobs?
@cm how? You're at will.
I might RTO if and only if Intel can pick me up with an airplane to show how important my work is. Don’t waste my time RTO just sitting around bullsh-t and fa----g all days to alert managers awareness.
Not for Def Met team!
Good kull the herd! No mercy! And even the “favorites” should not be spared. And if they are there should be a full on revolt calling it out!
@e2
Easy.
If the termination is for cause, and that cause is a policy just enacted that you violated over the last few months, amounts to fraud
Now, if they are smart and terminate due to at-will status, they will be in the clear.
At the end of the day, it only really effects unemployment and rehire status. You are still out of a job.
Intel and Lip Bu in particular are too big a bag of pu----s to ever act on RTO non-compliance they don’t have the nuts to make that decision, all this is nonsense, remember who we are dealing with folks and relax.
@e1 what do you think the rational for a lawsuit be? Seems like it will be frivolous and dismissed if you can even find an attorney to take the case of employees staying 10m in the office.
@dd
Badge in is a badge in - per their regulations. If they change this now and act on it, their name will be mud - and will likely trigger a class action lawsuit.
@dr
Assuming salary - expect ~50ish per week, including after hours and late night meetings.
Really depends on the group, though.
@dr I believe it’s like a adult 8 hour plus lunch work day
Anyone know what expected average hours worked in the office are? I am usually at around 6 hours but take calls outside of office hours with global teams on top of that.
@ch Raises…. People are getting raises?
@da So this means that we cannot come in to get free coffee and a banana, take a long po-p, show up for some morning meeting, and then go WFH the remainder of the work day?
They better lay off the entire RA site then, cause the parking lot has been empty after the first week of "RTO".
This is likely legit, notifications have been sent to employees and managers that have not shown alignment of greater than 2 days per week in an office location. Employees / managers without a valid rational for the non-compliance are being let go. Information Security data on location of source IP used in Global Protect is also being utilized. This was the plan to get to the deeper 75K employee count.

Doubt it. They have not implemented a way to track sick, vacation, holidays in there tool. Or temporary approval from managers to work rto. I've know someone that request rto temporary for a month when spouse was in hospital. So it's risky for them to layoffs base off rto. More likely you get warning or coaching
Doubtful.
April 1 is when all the raises kick in. And, yes, they are a joke.
@af you don’t believe there will be impacts to individuals that don’t come into the office or only come in for an hour?
Fake news !
Let’s use this site for getting real soup on layoff and not on fake stuff please !
About time! Clean house of all the slackers.
