Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Layoffs are happening

And at least one of them in my org deserved every bit of it for being a total slacker for years. They brought it on themselves.

Anyone else here have justified layoffs (more like firings) in their org this week?

You will never see any supervision, LL6, LL5+ get the boot who make bad decisions and cost the company millions.

@bn

Wonder if he was old and had a pension. That seems like the reason for most. Sorry about your friend!

It’s happening, found out a friend was let go today. He was a good worker with a great heart and passion. Better than most. I’m shocked

We’ve seen small numbers of both justified and unjustified firings this week. Slackers and older pension eligible gentlemen.

BTW we were told that after the disastrous 2019 Smart Redesign a more agile layoff process had been instituted. In THEORY it allows each supervisor to make decisions and promptly guide SGs who are underperforming. One of the selling points for the agile layoffs was eliminating the huge political gamesmanship during the lead up to mass layoffs. You know LL3,LL4,LL5 adjusting layoff lists and reorging to protect their spouses, family members and special friends. And also the same crowd unfairly targeting their competition.
In THEORY its a good idea, however, the Ford middle management LL3,LL4,LL5 have NOT kept their mitts off. And it’s a day late and a dollar short since the majority of the LL6 are simply ill suited for their positions. As such it is just more of the same Ford BS.
