Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

R2B Changes

Can't seem to get questions answered. Leadership doing the information trickle method, like the government does with bad news.

Will quotas be dropping since retail partnership is severing?

Right now quotas in SMB are near equal (sometimes more) than mid-market due to retail traffic.

Eliminating that and dropping the base down more than 50%, surely quotas are dropping (in a perfect world)

Mid-Market opportunities yield much larger deals, SMB opportunities yield small deals.
So more calls, more meetings, more closed deals to equal the same or similar quotas doesn't seem logical.

An old VZ coworker used to say Verizon may have logic and they have reason but never logic and reason together.

SMB is considered part of store headcount. If they have multiple locations they are a half headcount and if they are full time they are a full headcount. But when you are unsupported there do not reduce the store quota.

The sad part is they haven’t prepared any of you to sell door to door or fully remote without the retail leads and traffic to support you. This is no shade at any of you, it’s shade at the management and up ranks. None of you are ready to work remote and hunt, it’s the reality. This role started as retail support, that’s the whole reason it was even created. It’s been ba----dized so much as they go because the truth is, they have no clue what to do with any of you.

Let's be honest, this whole thing is TOTALLY F***ED. They're not telling us anything, there's absolutely no prep time, it directly impacts our pay, production, mentality, and work security. First, they just introduce a new pay plan January that took away our ability to multiply off of ecode, and wonder why ecode sales drop. Second, they're locking commission over 100% behind an ecode "gate". Third, they tell us we're going to have to start selling door to door and selling more ecode than before. The whole thing is disgusting, disingenuous, and disheartening. They're pi----g in our face without even having the decency to call it rain. There is absolutely no way to get a rhythm or proficient at anything they're asking from us for the last year and most likely the next year because it's one drastic change after another. I know I'm not alone when I say this truly feels like the beginning of the end, and everyone has to act like it's a good thing while we're speeding towards the edge of a cliff. WE LITERALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHERE WE'LL BE WORKING, WHAT WE'LL BE DOING, OR HOW MUCH WE'LL BE GETTING PAID IN 3 WEEKS.

Also not sure why the total number of SMB reps now significantly exceeds the total number of midmarket reps. There are like 2:1 ratio of smb vs MM reps lol

I'm not in R2B but from what I've heard seems like a complete mess and s*** show. Seems like that they got the message that They want the business reps out of the store but they don't really know what to do with them and also can't afford to give everybody severance

Yes I am wondering the same thing. Also, our RBSM keeps telling us he wants us working out of stores half the time. He’s a control freak and I think he thinks we will not work from home. I don’t want to be in a store at all if I’m not getting paid on what they sell as it will take away from prospecting time. Anyone else’s rbsm still telling them they will be in stores for the second half of their day each day or are your RBSMs saying you are going remote?
