Honestly, you aren't in any specific danger. But you aren't standing out either. You don't need to be upper L to be promoted or take a new position.

But it's doubtful anyone outside of your own personal network is going to advocate for you. If your bosses colleagues or their boss thought you were awesome last year, you wouldn't be a 5. Talk to your boss about succession plans and if they can help get you on any to progress your career.

If you mean a 5, then you’re relatively safe but also subject to the whims of the powers that be when it comes to both promotions and RIFs. 1/2 are the chosen ones, 4 is a bit safer, 6 is a bit less safe. Nobody gets a 7/8 and 9 is on the chopping block.

“Meets Rating” or “Meets Expectations” translates as PIP-In-Training. Work just a bit harder and your boss will recognize the threat you are to their incompetence and give you that Honeywell kiss of approval.
Remember that you boss is fully invested in keeping their group as stable as possible.
