Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Nobody is happy here

Everyone I know is burned out. This place isn't what it was ten years ago. We'd all leave if we could but nobody's hiring. I've got a masters and 50+ applications out there. Not one response. The constant threats and fear have drained me completely.

@a8 you can say programming will go obsolete all you want. Fidelity literally runs on code. In fact, that’s the way much of the world is. So much is heavily dependent on COBOL systems. That’s why we can’t upgrade everything right off the bat.

Programming ain’t going anywhere any time soon.

Masters degree, coding, programming is soon going to become obsolete.

Fidelity is a place where people come to retire.

Almost 80% of the people working in tech here won't find a role outside of the green walls, that's how our reputation is.
