Execs say there's a possibility for relocation, but with about 1,200 employees at the Boise site how likely is this really?

"My guess is by the middle of 2027, it will be a ghost town." LOL. It's been a ghost town for several years, but thanks for making it seem like this is recent.
"Recommend anyone at this site start applying dont wait." LOL. If they haven't by now, they never will.
@OP "Execs say there's a possibility for relocation..."
The same execs said the same exact thing about San Diego. There is a pattern emerging here.
Recommend anyone at this site start applying dont wait.
Insightful comment and it’s spot on. What’s ironic is that the Boise location is far more active than Palo Alto, where the latter is subleasing their office spaces to Tesla and other small companies. Seriously, do the executives actually commute to work every day? Doubtful. The last time I went was before COVID and no one was there.
Sad to Boise go. They had a lot of good talent there. I wonder if Fort Collins will be next. I’m in Houston and we’ve gotten too soft. All we do is party and our labs are only occupied by orange badge wielders.
If we look at the past, they will certainly lay off most employees by end of 2027. Only a few in higher roles will likely get relocation opportunities, but most ICs (which is the majority of the 1100) will get WFRd. I expect that only a few employees will take relocation, as many in higher roles are already of a certain age and are close to retirement. If you're in your mid to upper 50s/early 60s, own a home at a low interest rate, would you move from Boise to Portland or Corvallis?
Telework? Doubtful. They're going to require people to be at a hub location like they always have done. Why would they go backward on this strategy? Remote work has been on the decline.
I also expect HP to immeditely start merging Boise into the Oregon sites in a roll-out strategy. They're not going to wait until the end of 2027 to do it. I expect early retirement offers, as well as layoffs, to start happening all throughout this year and into next. My guess is by the middle of 2027, it will be a ghost town.
Anyone left will be canned. HP could care less about its employees.
This is where you find out how committed to the office strategy they are. Heard some key people are there. Will they drop them before changing to teleworkers?!!
And with Mr Magoo Spaniard going do they continue the site strategy.
This will the first test.
