Hello IBMers - For folks here who received received their employment verification letter for themselves or third party after RA action. What does the employment verification letter date state in terms of last day . For current employees it shows service reference date as start date (same date of hire). When you are separated what does IBM show ..Does the service reference date indicate last date of employment or last day worked or last day before you went on leave (if you were on LOA) ?

@ay sorry just now saw this. Been busy. I got the notice in early Nov like everyone else. My resume had already been updated as I had heard rumors of one last big one before the end of the year and with 20+ years on my back, I felt I was a target. I interviewed 2 times over the course of the month of Nov then hit Thanksgiving, so it slowed, then first week of Dec they scheduled last interview and then 2nd week of Dec, last day, Friday, they called and offered my the job to start in mid-January with the next on-boarding class. That was it. So I accepted and just coasted until Dec 31st, cancelled all my vacation since I wasn't doing anything anyway. But I also did not announce I was leaving either, I left that to my my FLM and 2nd line who waited until the last minute and scrambled to find the people who I needed to KT over to, as they were out on PTO lol. In the end I had two 1hr KT sessions that had to be recorded since they could not get some of the people since they were either literally traveling (thinking flying/driving) or out of the country with no laptop.
Dec 31st I wiped my laptop (didn't need to, but did anyway) and shipped back that weekend. Signed severance package, week and change later got my severance and all my vacation paid (in the new year 2026 so no tax hit for 2025), then shredded my badge and Citi business card. That was it. Started the new job on Jan 20th, so two weeks and change of vacation right there.
@an holy cow. i am curious what kind of level/ job profile do you have ? you got hired in a few weeks .. senior positions take at-least 6-7 rounds of interview over about 2 month period or more if they dont plan to ghost you
Mine showed the end of the month, I was part of the November RA, left Dec 4th, did a test one mid January and it showed Dec 31st 2025. Got a new job a few weeks later and background company got one that also showed Dec 31st 2025.
Last date of employment -- this is the date you agreed to with HR when you were separated.
