Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Anyone else tired of drowning?

Despite all the promises, the workload hasn't changed after all the layoffs. If anything, it's gotten worse since morale has tanked and many of the remaining employees are burned out and have given up on putting in the effort. The fact that there's less people to cushion the impacts of the folks who've always been lazy regardless of staffing levels doesn't help at all either.

I feel like an id--t for being so proud of my work ethic and working way above my pay grade for so long. I love my job, I really do, but things are continuing to spiral and I'm so, so tired of working my a-s off everyday when I feel neither valued nor respected.

If I'm probably going to get laid off within the next couple months anyway, why should I keep doing the work of 3 people? I might have to join the horde of people coasting until they give us a package or at least just stop the paychecks.

@jp you can job hunt while you are still employed. It is actually better to still be employed when you are job hunting. Use vacation days or call in sick if you get interviews.

@b2 here is some good news for you...Blackrock is having liquidity issues so they are limiting withdrawals. Private equity will likely be the catalyst for the next market crash and we are way overdue. Tech bubbles will burst too.

Do bad things to the system and people that made you drown. That is the only way to escape

@OP Best thing you can do is to press "EJECT" button once next VSP is coming.

I did that at 2024 and life is much happier :)

Do not be afraid.

INTEL is a bad place to work, leave is as soon as you can.

Good luck

@dt That's great that you're being treated well, but I highly doubt you're a tech. We're treated like disposable trash these days.

I got rehired back at Intel after a few years being gone, I got an awesome offer, great pay and sweet hiring and retention cash. Don't believe everything you read here.

"I feel like an id--t for being so proud of my work ethic and working way above my pay grade for so long. I love my job, I really do, "

Glad you finally woke up. Attitudes like the above of "feeling proud of work ethic, love my job" when you're working for a huge corporation, is the reason why the world is messed up. Trust me, Intel doesn't give a hoot about their "employer ethic" other than giving you your paycheck on time.

Treat Intel like Intel treats you -- just a cost benefit exercise. That's true for any big corporation. Do not go above and beyond. Do not compensate for bad management, understaffing, poor planning, by working overtime. In a forced ranking system like Intel, when you do it, now everyone has to do it. Put in an efficient 40-45 hrs and what gets done gets done and what doesn't get done will be planned for next week. It's their job to tell you what to prioritize and if they don't, do your best guess. Do not let incompetent management rake in their profits at the cost of your health and family.

@a2 I'm the OP and I promise you I'm also equal parts amused and disgusted by my eager, optimistic gullibility.

I'll probably be able to get you that $25,000 in like 5 years if I don't get laid off, if they actually give a COL adjustment, and if Intel doesn't collapse and I lose my job anyway. I'm sure it'll work out, hold on to those Bitcoins for me lol

If OP believes any promises made by Intel management then I have 1M Bitcoin to sell them at the bargain basement price of $25,000.
