Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

“Redeployment Partner”

I was one of the recent folks who got laid off. My “redeployment partner” was worthless. I would email the jobs I applied for and either I’d get a response days later or no response at all. Has anyone had a similar experience?

If so, I feel like this area could have jobs eliminated and keep others employed who are beneficial.

HR at this cr-p-a__ company is worthless (as are most HR departments)! They have no empathy, no intelligence and are just puppets for the company.

@ww that can happen anywhere. Elevance isn’t the only company who riffs constantly.

If they rid you and you reapply for another position and offered the position. Keep in my that you can be rid again. Happened to people I know that had only been in the new position for 3 months.

when I worked with mine, I scheduled a meeting with her then made sure I emailed her all the jobs I applied for each week. She did get some results for me, I did get an interview before my last day. However she was on PTO the last week before my RIF end date and the gal doing coverage never responded to my emails. it really is hit or miss.

Years ago pretty much my whole team was laid off. Me and one other person survived.

Over time at least half of the team was rehired.

@cx I was riffed in 2024. I’m not the same person who posted earlier. Quit being so snotty and acting like you know everything. Maybe you su-k and that is why Elevance doesn’t want you back.

@ct you’re right the job market is tougher but that still doesn’t mean I’m bragging. I’m stating a fact. There are less open positions so of course that means less people are going to get hired back. But to say Elevance doesn’t want you isn’t true either. My manager says she prefers Elevance people and has hired several people who were riffed from a different area. Sorry Facts!

@ct The current job market is not even close to 2021.Either you are bragging or just clueless.

Remember other people were laid off too and your redeployment partner is working with other people too. They also can’t make hiring managers respond to them. And to the person who said Elevance doesn’t want you. I know lots of people who get rehired. They actually do want you because it’s easier to onboard former employees.

I was laid off in 2021 and was able to get rehired 4 weeks later. Hang in there !! Apply everywhere and reach out to hiring managers. It does benefit them to hire you rather than hire from outside and train them. I was having 5-7 interviews a week.

For whatever reasons, they don't want you.
They've already demonstrated that by laying you off.

Claiming that they're still open to hiring you internally after laying you off, is like when your lover breaks up with you, but says you can still be friends.
No you can't.
They're just trying to let you down easy, so they don't catch any pushback from you.
Same with an employer - they just say they're still willing to hire you for a different position after laying you off, so they come across (legally, should you decide to try to sue them later on) as being open and willing to accommodate, if feasible.

They don't want to accommodate.
They don't want to compromise.
They want to save money, and they decided you cost them more than they're willing to pay.
They don't care about you, so don't waste your time chasing after them.
Retain your dignity and invest your time in finding employment elsewhere.

Try different sectors which can utilize your same skillset.

I was laid off last July and being told I would be a priority for any open positions that I qualified for. Well that didn’t happen, I went through 2 different interviews and then received a sorry Charlie email that stated they decided not to fill the positions I interviewed for. It’s March 2026 and I’m still unemployed and my supplemental pay and unemployment have been exhausted as of late January.
