Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Is spying on US citizens ok?

Antropic said the dod couldn’t use their systems to spy on US citizens. OpenAI picked up the dod contract.
So how do US TikTok users feel about their data now on Oracle servers now?
How long before AI is spying on employees?

@OP if you are an Oracle employee Oracle is already using AI to spy on you. How do you think this RIF list was compiled? But no worries, if you are "a good employee" then you have nothing to worry about.

Re: same goes for TikTok. If you are "a good citizen", it's all good!

It’s been on Oracle servers for years and with all the secret backdoors in infrastructure components legally mandated feeding the government do you have any expectation of privacy?

@b7 Anthropic didn't want their software used for mass surveillance on US citizens or as a sole arbiter of using lethal we-pons on the battlefield. Only with human oversight, because AI isn't reliable enough to always get it right. Those are their guardrails. Good for them for sticking with their principles.

Isn’t the AI DoD drama more about not having safe guards? I.e. they can use the AI to design a better nuclear we-pon?

They're already spying on employees by rolling out their "identity verification" product internally.
