Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Where and how we work 9 core hubs

I stumbled across an HR site when looking for surplus information that stated the nine core hubs at AT&T has planned.
Dallas/Plano
Atlanta
El Segundo, California
San Ramon, California
Bothell, Washington
Middleton, New Jersey
Bedminster, New Jersey
Washington DC
St. Louis, Missouri

I was doing a search on the on the one stop site and it was a frequently asked questions about where and how we work.
It also stated the core locations are long-term strategy of where we work.
Also stated that they will be closing locations as a consolidate over the next two years.
Take that info and face value because you know that could change!

As soon as the paint dries and the last new carpet tile is placed in Middletown, the Bedminster complex days are numbered.

Bedminster and Middletown NJ carry the company, you’re welcome.

Hubs at Middleton, New Jersey and Bedminster, New Jersey ????

The Bedminster complex was sold to be converted into apartments/codos/shopping center and the Middleton labs was shrunk from several buildings into 1. In addition these 'hubs' are about an hour driving distance apart. Something doesn't ring right here. I'm betting on a web site that hasn't been updated in a long time and was forgotten about. Seems T has always been non-committal on naming the official hubs,, so I don't see them listing the official list on HROS.

To the OP: You say you stumbled on an HR site that gave the hubs. Seeing is believing. Paste in the URL to share the information.

The canary in the coal mine are those designated FTO but continue to telecommute even while assigned to a hub. Those and their immediate leadership will be the next major cleanup project.

“ So where is the HUB for folks in New England? They are about to squeeze all of us in Framingham MA“

That IS the HUB. Until such time as they tell all the people not directly tied to the market that they need to head to TX anyway.

That’s it. There’s nowhere else. Also, there’s nowhere near enough room for everyone they have told will need to start reporting there + the people already there.

@b2 No, I assume AT&T does not think the people in Florida are worth employing which I never understood. I am no longer with AT&T for this reason. Sorry not moving to NJ.

Don’t forget the moniker Center of Excellence. Separate from the hub list.

I read something that said the eventual plan is to narrow it down to 3 main hubs. I think they were Dallas/Plano, Atlanta, and Bedminster. Will post it if I can find the article.

Legg also claimed that just because it's a hub, its not necessarily a hub for all divisions. He first said San Ramon wasn't a hub for his division and then as usual backtracked and said "we need a silicon valley presence." Not sure how many people consider the other side of the bay as silicon valley but apparently Leggy thinks he'll draw top talent wanting that commute. He's also invented his share of hubs not on that list also.

Don't believe a word of any of this. They've gutted hubs and invented hubs.
When his lips are moving, you know he's telling a lie.

Previously it read Seattle which included Redmond/Bothell and Redmond was already closed. Atlanta also included Alpharetta. And Dallas always included Plano. All those until they don't. Or until they decide to dream up new hubs.

Bloomington Minnesota is targeted for closing because the company doesn't like the political climate or image there.

@a4 They’re moving to a new building in El Segundo and it’s a multiyear lease but they are only taking two floors.

They've been telling us that Austin is going away for years but the lights are still on. As long as AT&T Labs is here, we are a hub.

I doubt El Segundo and San Ramon are long term strategies. Satellite hubs at best.

That’s been around for three years. And they change it at will per org. So just because there is a building there, doesn’t mean your org will have an org there.
