Planning for exit: bonus secured. I have been secretly building business on side that has me financially where I want it to be. Now the planning which items should I take care of or be sure I take advantage of before I leave. Insurance wise I will take care of any benefits since I will be getting my own insurance such as annuals , dental work( not much) using my rewards I think I have some gift cards I can cash with points, wrap up any Ed Assist dues for the certification I am getting , help a friend here add to the list

@c5 and that’s why going forward impacted employees will lose all access within an hour of being notified. The layoffs at the end of October, someone deleted all their work, drafts, roadmaps, all of it, and it set that area back months.
$2000 says this person is still here. Hasn’t even looked for a job other than opening linked once one night while on the toilet, and resume looks exactly like it did when they applied to USAA
Don’t overthink it. If you have a job secured externally just go.
Absolutely!
They are yours to do with as you wish.
Despite the current draconian dystopia attempting to close in on us...this is still AMERICA...so utilize all freedom which is yours, while you still can!
@av
You are on point with data deletion. I’ve wiped a computer clean before I turned in my laptop. Just to add one thing, make sure OP deletes any online files in shared box or personal box folders so that your info isn’t randomly pulled by the others after departure.
Can one burn through their volunteer says and floating holidays before their exit ?
Like a comment stated, make sure you use the minimum required PTO if possible, download all your paystubs, any HR and recruiter information etc …
Once you submit your 2 weeks notice, depending on your area and manger, they might just make you sign off minutes after submitting your notice.
Assume you can be cut off from company systems at any time. Therefore:
Download your HR related info. such as insurance documentation, tax stuff, all paystubs, etc. (you might need to refer to these when filing for unemployment insurance, should they lay you off before you quit).
Download contacts info. (HR individuals, anyone you can use for a reference, coworkers, clients, etc.) Also download any documentation of any accolades you've received either via email or otherwise, from people you've worked with.
Delete as much of your personal info. from your company computer as possible. This includes documents, contacts, calendar entries, interoffice communication with coworkers, etc.
Use up PTO if it can't be sufficiently paid out...and take that time off just before you go for good, so there are none of your personal effects to gather/none of your company items to return in-person. They can send to your home a shipping box/label to return your laptop, and you can do all of your offboarding document signing from home...lol.
Excellent work with strategically lining up your alternate income stream/s, and best of luck with whatever you do, going forward!
If you want my advice I would take FMLA first get paid for that and then quit. Another thing, get any major dental work done for you and your family , figure out your PTO payout
You don't need to 'secretly' build a side thing unless it conflicts with your USAA role.
Your benefits as far as health care coverage will last until the end of the calendar month you leave. Depending on your location (state laws), you won't be paid out any extra PTO until you've used up 15 days so not a lot of point to worry too much about using your flex day or volunteer days. Honestly sounds like its time for you to fly. Good luck.
