Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How about enjoying some good news ahead of Christmas?

I know we are all about doom and gloom here, but Intel actually did something right and I think that should be celebrated.

Efficiency is king, let’s buy an Intel space heater.

It’s cold in Hillsboro so we know why Intel silicon is so hot, LOL

Who the f-ck cares about the frequency of your CPU anymore? This is almost 2023, not 2002. Shitel should instead focus on building a real GPGPU for AI and datacenter to compete with NVDA, not paperware like PVC.

@fyv+1kjrCufh Actually I'm pretty sure news like that will help to sell a few thousand more 13900Ks at least, none of them will be reaching such frequencies of course, but consumers behaviors are weird sometimes.

@fyv, if you read the article you'd know that they used a lot more than a simple fan to cool that CPU.

How big of a fan is needed to cool that thing down? Impractical novelty products that appear only for PR purposes aren’t what is needed at this time.

Who gets a happy ending from just the speed of vibration?
How does it compare to M1 silicon?
