We have more than enough of those, and yet it doesn't seem any were affected by these layoffs.

middle managers are slowly being transitioned to the directors unless lot of organization structure under that director. gcc coming live will also cause more. that may take time.
Only the managers and ELT that su-k up to Sycamore and do whatever they ask will remain. If not they will just bring in their own people, any pushback, those people will be existing. With middle managers, they are no different than any other employee, experienced (older), higher paid jobs, and people will opinions are not welcome.
